PROJECT VISION

The aim of the Competition: to select the best design by selecting and paying prize money to the winners of the first, the second and the third places. The Client (Awarding Entity) shall hold negotiations with the author of the winning design regarding the design implementation contract.

In order to achieve the aim of the competition the following tasks are raised:

1.

Analyse the development possibilities of the land plot, design the best solution appropriate for the design plot.

2.

Design a complex of buildings suited for the scale of the existing sensitive urban environment by developing interconnections with the existing system of public spaces and ensuring their coherence with the existing cultural heritage objects, preserving visual and spatial angles of significance to the city and the public, with a strong focus on the expression of the authenticity of real cultural heritage and the actualisation of the existing historical development.

3.

Develop attractive public spaces.

PROJECT LOCATION

Lyceum and hotel featuring a conference centre will be located in Vasario 16-osios st. 1, Vilnius, Lithuania (ex St Jacob Hospital quarter)

COMPETITION CONDITIONS AND ANNEXES

The Competition shall be organised according to the Regulation on Architectural Competitions of Architects Association of Lithuania (approved by the decision of 4 September 2014 of the Council of Architects Association of Lithuania) and the Provisional Regulation on the Organisation of Architectural Competitions of the Architects’ Chamber of Lithuania (approved by the Architects’ Chamber of Lithuania on 13 April 2018, No. T18/01).

EVALUATION JURY OF THE COMPETITION

For the purpose of evaluation of the proposals (designs) of the Competition, the following Evaluation Jury of the Competition consisting of 9 members and 3 reserve member shall be formed.

Deadline for requesting clarifications of the Terms of Reference – 15:00 (local time) on 25 July, 2019. Answers to the queries of the Competition Participants shall be sent within 5 (five) business days from the date of receipt thereof, until 15:00 (local time) on 31 July, 2019.
